Vice-President, Finance The VP is responsible for leading ongoing evolution and improvement of the organisation’s shared services team. He/she will provide experience, expertise and understanding of the Global Order to Cash Finance team to the executive leadership team and business leaders and ensure that the financial strategies developed will underpin and are effectively aligned with corporate objectives. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a complex global organisation, understanding the nuances that various geographies hold. While possession of sound technical and functional management skills together with commercial acumen are a given, success will be governed by an ability to work with and influence a constituency of both finance and non-finance professionals. This role will also require a breadth of organisational leadership as well as change/project management skills, so to ensure that function is responsive and continually provides ‘centre of excellence’ support to business initiatives and challenges. The VP Finance will act as the conduit between the financial and strategic aspects of the finance function in ensuring that the organisation has the necessary capabilities to deliver its business strategy. Leadership & Strategy ? Partner with the SVP Finance in developing the overall finance strategy in alignment with the Group’s strategic business planning; ? Foster a culture of analytics that enhance the business’ ability to forecast and predict financial metrics /trends; ? Establish a framework which will drive the development of underlying behaviours, policies & procedures to support the effective leadership of the organisations finance function; ? Ensure correct operational controls, reporting procedures and systems are in place throughout the finance function. Processes & Controls ? Ensure that robust internal control systems are in place to assure the integrity of the organisation's financial management and statutory reporting; ? Lead the development of best practice and relevant accounting standards, policies and procedures, creating meaningful impact at all levels where appropriate; ? Maintain and build an organisation that appreciates the criticality of strong accounting practices, ensuring high levels of governance and compliance; ? Collaborate with internal customers and stakeholders to develop, challenge and continually improve processes and systems. Reporting ? Ensure best in class Business Intelligence reporting is developed and implemented, in both operating businesses and at management level to optimise timely decision-making and monitoring of business outcomes; ? Develop and implement appropriate practices & policies throughout the business to ensure accounting, financial and operating reports accurately reflect the financial results of the business and provide reliable information to all stakeholders. Team Building ? Managing a team of financial professionals to deliver best in class financial support to the internal operations team; ? Develop, promote, sustain and nurture superior working relationships with all internal teams/colleagues ensuring the provision of superior service delivery at all times; ? Be a key driver in the evolution of cultural change within own team & senior leadership; ? Resource the finance team and define the roles to deliver the business strategy; ? Perform other reasonably related duties, analysis and special projects as assigned. Performance Improvement & Relationship Management ? Develop and monitor key business target setting and performance improvement indicators in conjunction with the SVP Finance; ? Create and maintain a strong customer centric culture within the finance team; ? Apply knowledge to develop systems and business processes that increase efficiency or support emerging business initiatives or transactions; ? Provide advice on the impact of financial policies to key stakeholders; in doing so build and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues in elated function inter alia billing, operations, sales, legal, corporate finance, investor relations and finance business partners; ? Communicate effectively with business unit leaders and the senior management team to ensure that they have a thorough understanding of revenue levers, cost drivers, procedures, and controls. Experience, Skills and Knowledge Requirements ? Bachelor’s Degree, or local equivalent, in a related field or equivalent; ? Membership of a recognised, professional accountancy body; ? 10 years post qualification experience of financial accounting, revenue recognition or audit experience, with a minimum of eight years in a management capacity; ? Comprehensive and technical knowledge of US GAAP; ? Experienced in a range of finance disciplines including corporate finance, regulatory reporting, taxation and treasury; ? Leadership in all technical finance matters through building organisation wide ‘centre of excellence’ continually aligning this function with the emerging needs of the business; ? Advanced business analysis skills to evaluate, select and implement ‘best in class’ solutions capable of making a substantial contribution to the organisation’s capability to grow its business; ? Multi-skilled professional comfortable working with all levels of the organisation; ? Experience of working in an international and publicly traded company, highly desirable; ?
