Assistant Store Directors are responsible for stocking and maintaining merchandising of perishable and/or grocery, and nonfood departments in an orderly and appropriate manner by performing these duties personally or through subordinates. In this role, you will also be responsible for: Displaying outstanding customer service skills by greeting customers, answering customer complaints or inquires providing friendly, courteous service at all times. Display this same courtesy to co-workers as well. Merchandising of perishable and nonperishable departments, including building of displays, refilling shelves, unloading and sorting of shipments of merchandise for resale Planning and preparing work schedules and assigning employees to specific duties as necessary Supervising employees engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, preparing daily record of transactions, or performing work of subordinates as needed Assisting in compliance of employees with established security, sales, and record keeping procedures and practices Assisting in opening and closing duties, including locking and securing the store Being able to work additional shifts other than what is posted on weekly schedule. Assisting in various other activities as required by the Store Director or District Director EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE - Individuals must have prior experience in Retail Grocery related field, and must have actual functional knowledge of the overall duties. Completion or enrollment in the Retail Management Certificate Program preferred. The store will provide necessary additional training as needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
