Visit cpkcr.com to learn about the CPKC advantage, our purpose and culture.   Description This position is responsible to manage the allocation and efficient utilization of railcars and CPKC assets within the Intermodal line of business, ensuring intermodal terminal as well as port terminal railcar requirements are met.  The position is responsible to manage the flow of assets to meet demand in alignment with overall corporate intermodal targets. This role is accountable for leading key strategic and tactical aspects of the Intermodal Railcar Fleet for Domestic Terminals (CPKC-M and private), as well as all International ports in Mexico. This position is a liaison between commercial and the operating team, identifying opportunities and developing solutions to problems.  A key point of contact, communicates externally with customers and other railroads solving problems or insuring alignment on goals and objectives.   Accountabilities Responsible for the daily management of CPKC’s Intermodal railcar fleet (planning, distribution, and utilization) across the network in Mexico and the US. Deliver Empty Order Fulfillment in a timely and efficient manner to meet production and revenue targets; provide direction to Intermodal Terminals and International ports with regards to loading plans. Ensure assets are meeting velocity/cycle targets – develop action plan for dwelling equipment. Provide direction to the container Asset Distribution team for international empty container flows; providing guidance and support on the reposition of domestic empty containers. Communicate daily with Marketing and Sales and provide feedback and guidance on initiatives, port/customer concerns or issues. Communicate pipeline conditions to both internal and external customers; escalate issues to key stakeholders as they arise. Coordinate with other departments such as mechanical; engineering; T&E on all car issues relating specifically to fleet. Ensure effective fleet and train plans are in place to meet corporate goals and targets. Demonstrate operational excellence by knowing and applying the business requirements. Demonstrate customer focus and contingency planning to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.   Ideal Candidate Qualifications Required University Degree or Post-secondary Diploma recommend or equivalent industry knowledge.  Understanding of the company’s operation along with geographic/operating systems/commercial knowledge would be an asset.
